The dream was to create a comfortable home based on the principles of early settlers with the romance of our past. The log cabin becomes even more personal and satisfying since the logs are harvested from America’s forests. This is the creation of elegant rusticity and lasting beauty that lures us with warmth, charm and comfort.

The necessity came from a trip in 2003 to purchase property and begin the journey of fulfilling the dream. After touring 5 states and settling on the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana I begin to visit all the log home companies in order to select or design my log home dream. To my amazement these companies offered little assistance and in general could have cared less about someone needing a small cabin. The worst part was that I had purchased land in what was considered the heart of the log home industry. The industry and these companies were only interested in the mega-home. To make the story short, I found one company and paid $32,000.00 for a $15,000.00 log package. I was elated to be on my way to fulfilling a dream! Unfortunately as I begin to build my home I became aware that my deal was not that good. Thus the realization that anyone with the desires and dreams I had, deserved to be respected and worked with to make their project and home as important as anyone else. Canyon Springs Log Homes was created out of a dream, fueled by necessity and dedicated to quality logs, service and affordability.

We are also determined to be the most environmentally sensitive log home company in the industry focusing on the harvest of dead standing timbers. This removal helps eliminate the danger to forest users by removing trees with a high probability of falling without notice and potential fire fuels. We also buy from local logging companies eliminating highway carbon emissions created by companies that purchase out of country. Although some shipping must be accomplished via inter/intrastate trucking we try to ship by utilizing rail whenever possible. Our product comes from a natural resource in its natural state, eliminating the need of excess waste and delivering a true dimensional product. There are no emissions from our manufacturing mill. Canyon Springs Log Homes, Inc. offers cabins in many sizes and styles, ranging from the Wilderness Efficiency Model, 252sq. ft. to the Bitterroot Model, 2700 sq. ft.  Prices begin at $6,500.00(log shell),  FOB, Darby, Montana 59829 and will fluctuate depending on the customer’s desires, cabin size, log supply and demand.  The customer may also choose from one of our standard models or submit a sketch/plan of their own.  We want you the customer to be happy and have no surprises.  We will give you an estimate, list all items included, set your delivery time and give you the time to compare and make your decision.  You, the customer are our best representative.  We will also assist you in preparation of estimates for your financial institution.  There is much more to building then just the logs.  My cabin is my home and I am now living my dream of 40 years.  I know the anxiety and apprehension of taking that first step and breaking loose.  I also know the feeling of walking in, for the first time, YOUR cabin, realizing the happiness and pride of a dream come true.

These cabins can usually be erected in a couple of weekends with friends. There are several ways but none more affordable then what we have today. Use the cabin as a guest room, an extra storage building, a sauna, library, playhouse or any thing you can imagine. The beauty of logs has never been more affordable!
